Weekend Round Up 6th & 7th September
History was made yesteday in an incredibly wet and windy Liverpool as the North Wales team became the first ever Welsh team to compete in the NATIONAL finals of the upper age group of the Youth Development League ????.
Competing in a world ranking competition against the biggest UK clubs and against a huge field of talent (which included a world record holder!), from Colwyn Bay AC we had; IWAN ????, LILY????, JAKE????, EVA????, CARI????, RUBEN????, LYDIA????, CASI????, MORGAN????, CIARA???? and EIRA????. The North Wales team, led by their incredibly proud team managers Tania and Rocco finished 5th overall across the day’s competition ????.
A big congratulations to Eira and Ruben who earned individual medals on the day; Ruben a bronze in the B group for the U17 1500m steeplechase and Eira a bronze in the A group in the U17 800m ????????????. Llongyfs to Cari who earned a fantastic bronze as part of the u17 4x100m relay team ????‍??????, and also a big shoutout to Lily who was selected as one of the team captains on the day ????.
A massive thanks to ALL the athletes (and their families) who have supported and competed for the YDL North Wales team over the season. It has certainly has been one which will be hard to beat ????????????????
 
What an absolutely cracking saturday morning on the Great Orme for the North Wales mountain running championships. The sun shone, the breeze blustered and THAT hill at the end was certainly steep! Good to see Ellis, Eban, Jonah, Ifan, Isla, Lois, Elin and Aneia all looking strong and showing bags of grit and determination all the way along the course. A massive well done to you all ????????????. Congratulations to Elin who came 2nd overall in the u15 girls ???????? and also to Ifan who picked up 3rd in the u13 boys ????????
Big thanks to Mike Blake and his big band of volunteers who (despite some challenges ??) ensured the seamless running of today’s busy races ????????
 
 
Whooop Josh! Not only did he complete his 100th parkrun on Saturday morning but he obliterated his PB and ran an amazing sub 20 in an official time of 19.29 to finish 3rd overall ???????????????? Josh you are amazing ????
