Welsh Junior Indoor Championships 2024

This past weekend saw the under 13’s, under 17’s and under 20’s in action in the Welsh Indoor Champs in Cardiff. We’ve had Cara, Hugo and Connor in action on Saturday with Cara racing the 300m where she finished 4th in her heat , Hugo and Connor in the 60m and Hugo also on Long Jump. After finishing 5th in his long jump overall before moving to the 60m heats, Hugo is now through to the final of the 60m. Connor also ran a blistering 7.08 to qualify for the under 17”s 60m final 

Dramatic 60m finals for Hugo and Connor in Cardiff….Hugo who is racing in his first year in the under 13 age group finished in 4th, narrowly missing out on the medals. Connor matched his heat time of 7.08s to clinch a silver medal in a very close race in the under 17 mens 60m and setting a new club record too. Well done to you both, absolutely fantastic

Day two of the junior indoor championships in Cardiff and we’ve had Hugo and Alfie in action. Hugo competing in the under 13 boys shot put and high jump pulled out all the stops and has been crowned Welsh Indoor Champion with a gold in the high jump and a personal best jump of 1.28m . Alfie racing for the first time in the under 17 men’s age group ran an absolute class race in the 3000m coming in third for a championship bronze with a huge PB of 9.33.84. Alfie knocked almost 13 seconds of his previous PB - excellent!! Well done to you both, da iawn hogiau
