Welsh Senior and U15 Indoor Championship Report

Welsh Senior and U15 Indoor Championship Report - 28th and 29th January

Three Colwyn Bay athletes had a busy and successful weekend in Cardiff at the Welsh indoor seniors championships incorporating the Under 15 age group Welsh Champs. Kane and Jacob (u20’s) both jumped up an age group to compete with the seniors - Jacob in the long jump and 60m and Kane in the 400m and 200m. After getting close to his PB in the 60m on Saturday, Jacob had a fantastic Sunday and jumped 6.48m bagging himself a Champsionhip gold ????.

Kane had a tough 400m race on the Saturday, unfortunately missing out on a spot in the finals, however he recovered well for his 200m on the Sunday and sailed through to the semi-finals in the 200m finishing 6th overall in this competitive field. Well done lads ????????.

Alfie was competing in the under 15 Welsh champs and set himself a busy weekend with a 1500m race Saturday and 3000m on the Sunday. Alfie knocked a huge 14 seconds off his indoor 1500m time from this time last year finishing 5th in a very close and competitive race. He must have saved something in his legs though as today he finished 2nd earning himself a silver championship medal in the 3000m - fantastic Alfie ????????.

Well done to you all. As always, special thanks to coaches and Colwyn Bay Atheltics Club volunteers who have been down in Cardiff this weekend on officiating duties ????????
